Dimosthenis Bogiatzis

Dimosthenis Bogiatzis graduated from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, (School of Fine Arts) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2016 and was awarded a BA Hons degree. He completed a Master's degree in Glasgow School of Art in 2017 with the theme title «Immaculate Conception».

He was awarded the NEON scholarship (2016-2017) for his MA studies. In 2016 he was awarded a Welcome Scholarship from the Glasgow School of Art in Glasgow. In 2017 he was awarded the Special Awards / Hardship Grants by the Schilizzi Foundation of England. He has also been awarded several awards and has taken part in many residencies. His work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in museums, foundations and galleries internationally.

​Dimosthenis Bogiatzis’s practice, over the last years, is focusing on spiritual aspects of the past that are now transformed into objects, actions or even habits within our society. He is particularly interested in the concepts of ritual and the condition emerging as long as the ritual lasts. His research is now focused on defining the meaning of a ritual in modern times, in relation to politics and social structure.
