In the artist's own words, "my painting is an effort between the representation and the act of reduction. I explore the limit where both can co – exist and similarly cancel each other, vindicating their claim at the surface of the canvas. The procedure of creating my paintings is the essential search of that very moment, where each element of the picture manages to acquire double significance through interaction."
Achilleas's work is fresh and contemporary, influenced by pop art principles, as well as inspired by street art qualities. He is mainly addressing void and somehow abandoned spaces, evoking a dream-like atmosphere of familiarity. The final work depicts an image that could be described as a "memory still", where reminiscence and sentiment shape a semi-substantial and semi-intangible condition.
