The idea behind this series is the accidental co-occurrence of two concepts: reality and its distant memory; the actual incidents we experienced long ago and their impression on us through the years; the smell, the size or the color of the flowers, which might be less bright and blue than the ones we were able to see when we were young.
The tree and his roots III
Nikoletta was born in Athens, Greece in 1996. She studied Painting at the 1st Painting Studio of the Athens School of Fine Arts (2014-2021). She also completed a student exchange program in the Royal Academy of Arts - The Hague (2018).
During her studies, she took part in various exhibitions around Greece. In 2019 she was awarded by the Greek department of the “Rosa Luxemburg” foundation.
Nikoletta Papakonstantinou’s artistic practice is strongly related to capturing the essence of early childhood memories and the exceptional way they deconstruct, shortly before they fade out.
