Katerina Momitsa lives and works in Athens. Her work is presented under the brand name "Káte" and is related to the ebru and marbling techniques. Ebru is a traditional form of painting, well known in Anatolia for centuries. The design is created on the water and then captured on paper. The origin of the word is Persian and means "figure like a cloud".
Her first contact and studies with ebru were in Istanbul. Since then she has participated in several workshops of many ebru masters. She has also taken part in various exhibitions. Her art studio is located in Athens, Greece. There she experiments with ebru and marbling techniques and applies them on various materials. She then uses this technique in combination with her own style to create notebooks, diaries, jewelry, accessories and art deco objects.
