Antonis Kapnisis was born in Athens in 1987. In 2011, he graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts. In 2019 he completed his Master’s degree in Fine Arts at the same university. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greece and Cyprus. He lives and works in Athens.
Kapnisis has been involved in drawing and painting, addressing the concepts of vision, journeying without cause, landscape, self-confinement (isolation) and theological matters relating to the nature of image. Pictures initially drawn on a computer, then painted by hand on surfaces like paper and wood, negotiate the contrast between manmade and non-manmade, real and digital.
